Welcome to South Sydney Spartans Basketball.

We love all things Basketball

As Spartans, we’re big on family atmosphere and keen on players who are team focused, have the right attitude and good temperament.

Our players are from all backgrounds, beliefs, diets and skill levels but the collective focus is the same- everyone is onboard for making BBall fun.

About

We are South Sydney Spartans Basketball. A family of basketball loving people. We all possess different skill sets, experience and player abilities and share the same passion when it comes to all things bball.

First starting off as a bunch of mates who rode motorbikes, who then banded together to compete in the game  basketball against a rival motorbike forum. Talk about turf wars and bragging rights! Victors on the mean streets of Redfern at the ATP outdoor courts! Rematch a few months later was just as sweet.

Only over the recent years have we decided to expand our comp roster as many peeps who trained with us on Monday night, find that they’re wanting to play as a South Sydney Spartan.

We have teams currently playing in competition in varying divisions within the BNSW City of Sydney Basketball Association. Court location is at 53 Maddox St, Alexandria NSW 2015 – Home of the Sydney Comets and an old training ground of the Sydney Kings.

We’re proud to announce we have a Premiere League and Division 1 mens team competing at the CSBA comp on Mondays at Comets Alexandria.

We have now achieved the dream of having our very own junior squads playing in the local rec competition in the St George Basketball Association, whom have been training hard at the Fitness Safehouse Basketball Training facility in Carlton NSW.

We are looking to broaden our valued basketball community and encourage you, your friends and family who are looking to play to contact us to arrange for a trial game.

Remembering Daniel Barnacoat aka “DB”

Heya guys and gals. Just a bit of a note to all Spartan players and our awesome BBall group and supporters. You may or may not have noticed the letters “DB” on our Spartans uniforms (and all other previous uni’s) which represents the initials for one of the original CBR250.com forum BBall members – Daniel Barnacoat. A mate who was tragically taken in a motorbike accident in 2010. He was a pesky player who played bball for his mates and had the pointiest of elbows.

We play in his memory and always endeavour to have a positive and impactful influence in our community.
